Equity and Health in Pregnancy

At Endeara we believe we can once and for all make a
significant dent in solving the inequity crisis that pins
tens of thousands of expectant mothers to deficient or
absent prenatal and postnatal care.

We are fully committed to the transformation of maternal healthcare. Our efforts are focused on streamlining care processes, enhancing provider and payor accountability, and leveraging digital innovation to improve the efficiency and convenience of administrative procedures. Through these efforts, we firmly believe that patients, physicians, medical teams, hospitals, and payors will benefit from substantial improvements, resulting in optimal care and better outcomes. Our ultimate objective is to replace cumbersome processes with a seamless and patient-centric approach. In pursuit of this vision, we are actively developing a patent application for our innovative digital platform.

Endeara emerged in response to the ongoing maternal-child equity crisis in the United States. This country is witnessing a troubling rise in maternal morbidity and mortality (MMM), with an alarming 700 maternal deaths occurring annually and an astonishing 50,000 women experiencing severe maternal morbidity, as reported by the National Institute of Health. Expectant mothers from underserved populations face a significantly higher risk of adverse outcomes. Startling research reveals that over the past 25 years, the United States has transitioned from having one of the lowest maternal morbidity ratios among high-income countries (HIC) to possessing the highest maternal mortality rate within this group. Endeara aims to confront these inequities head-on, striving to prevent unnecessary deaths and alleviate suffering in pursuit of a more equitable healthcare system.

Our patient-centered approach and innovative model aims to directly confront and alleviate some of the most pernicious assumptions and practices that impede equal access to excellent care, regardless of socioeconomic status, ability, and ethnicity. Extensive research has taught us that prospective moms and birthing individuals, particularly those from underserved populations, often encounter intimidation due to the existing care models in the US. These models can feel culturally alien, expensive, fragmented, unfriendly, complex, and unapproachable—especially for working parents with limited economic means and non-English speaking backgrounds. This leads to lack of communication, suspicion, and fear, all of which often disrupts ongoing preventative care and support, ultimately resulting in expensive and disjointed emergency care.

With each step forward, we are propelled by a deep sense of purpose and the profound impact our work can have on countless lives. Our journey towards making equitable maternal care a tangible reality in our country—and potentially improving healthcare as a whole—helps us push boundaries, driven by our unwavering determination to create a better, more equitable healthcare for all.
